Jeff Moritz Administration Center Dedicated

Jeff Moritz • 1954-2003

The Jeff Moritz Administration Center was formally dedicated on Tuesday evening, June 21.

A great many friends of The Children's Home and of Ray and Alice Moritz, Jeff's parents, were present to tour the beautiful building that had been renovated with a generous gift from Jeff's estate.

Mickey McKandles, elder of the Monterey Church of Christ and Jeff's very close friend, spoke to the gathering about Jeff's loving heart and his affection for the children of The Children's Home. Floyd I. Stumbo, President Emeritus of The Children's Home Foundation, and Lynn R. Harms, President of the Home, expressed their gratitude to the Moritzes for their devotion to their son and for honoring his wish to benefit children through his estate planning.

Jerry Hoover, Chairman of The Children's Home Board of Directors, prayed for God's blessing on the new building and the work that will be done there on behalf of boys and girls. The guests then all joined in singing "It is Well With My Soul", Jeff's favorite hymn and his motto for life.

The building will house administration, development and accounting. The move frees up office space for foster care and adoption, as well as counseling and therapy. In the past three years the foster care program has expanded from less than 10 children to over 40 children, necessitating an expansion in case management staff.

Friends of the Home are welcome to tour the new facility during regular business hours. To read about the generous heart of Jeff Moritz, please email us at info@childshome.org and request a copy of the booklet, "It is Well With My Soul." You will be inspired and encouraged by Jeff's story.
