The Education/Recreation
Department serves all children in care on the campus of The Children's
Home, as well as direct child care staff and their families. We
also provide support for foster care families and boys placed at
Texas Boys Ranch.
The Recreation Program
is responsible for meeting the following objectives:
- to plan and supervise
a variety of game and sports experiences for children of all ages
- to supervise free
play in a safe environment
- to plan and supervise
swimming instruction and opportunities for all children
- to plan and supervise
campus-wide events, such as play days, campus picnics, and special
entertainment
- to plan and provide
therapeutic recreation for all children with specific needs
How can you help?
- Volunteer to help
teach a class or a skill (soccer, baseball, Tai Kwon Do, gymnastics)
- Provide funds for
recreational equipment (we particularly need materials for very
young children)
- Sponsor a campus-wide
event or an outing
